How to get to Sculthorpe Moor
How to find Sculthorpe Moor | Directions to the reserve
Sculthorpe Moor Community Nature Reserve is on the A148 Fakenham to King’s Lynn Road, opposite the village of Sculthorpe just outside the market town of Fakenham in Norfolk. For a sketch map see below.
From King’s Lynn | Take the A148 to Fakenham and Cromer and follow this road straight, through East Rudham and past turnings to Dunton. There is a turning to Sculthorpe Mill on the right and then a turning to Sculthorpe village on the left. Go past these and take the next right (Turf Moor Road is a small road almost directly opposite the 2nd turning left to Sculthorpe about 100yds before the bollards). Follow slowly down Turf Moor Road, which will take you down to the entrance of the reserve car park.
From Fakenham | At the Shell garage take the A148 towards King’s Lynn. Take the second left along this road onto Turf Moor Road, just beyond the bus stop on the left.
You can also reach the reserve by bicycle and on the bus from Fakenham or King’s Lynn.
From London | Follow the M25 to the M11 (Stansted & Harlow) junction and follow the M11 until you reach the A11 to Newmarket. Take this road and go straight.
At the Barton Mills roundabout take the A1065 to Swaffham and follow this road through Swaffham to Fakenham and there take the A148 towards King’s Lynn.
The entrance to the moor is down Turf Moor Road which is on the left less than half a mile down this road (the second turning on the left), just beyond the bus stop.
Bus – X8 Fakenham to King’s Lynn; buses stop at the end of Turf Moor Road.
Bicycle – Sustrans National Route 1 from Harwich to Hull runs within 200 metres of the end of Turf Moor Road.
