The first ever Sculthorpe Moor BioBlitz was a great success! 600 people attended the event with 200 of these being kids.
Experts from many different organisations attended including Butterfly Conservation, Norfolk Wildlife Trust, Norfolk Naturalist Society Norfolk Biological Information Service to name but a few! Lots of clever people identifying lots of different species.
Our count is up to 525 species so far and we are still inputting moth information! The kids were given a bug pot each and had great fun finding bugs and taking them to the relevant expert for identification.
Definitely going to do this again next year!
Thanks go to the British Ecological Society who help us fund this event with a very generous grant.
Visit Sculthorpe Moor between 10.00am and 4.00pm and help us find as many creatures on the reserve as we can over the weekend.
