Conservation in the South West

Continuing conservation work in the south west includes:

Farm visits – Visits to landowners of all kinds (including farmers, smallholders, forestry, councils, conservation organisations, golf courses, etc) to advise on habitat creation and improvement, nesting boxes, conservation grants and predation issues.

Nest site visits – To collect nest site data and place BTO rings on owlets for distribution and longevity studies.

School visits – Visits to schools and children’s organisations

The Hawk and Owl Trust is grateful to the following for their continuing support of our conservation work in the South West:

Acton Court, Animal Affairs, Bristol Port Company, Cotleigh Brewery, Forestry Commission, H.B. Allen Charitable Trust, Mendip Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty Sustainable Development Fund, North Somerset District Council (ALSF), Quantock Hills AONB Sustainable Development Fund, Secret World Wildlife Rescue and Yanley and North Somerset Environmental Company.

Special thanks also to our many volunteers and local landowners, on whom we rely for so much.
