Sorrel heads towards her second birthday

Happy New Year from the Hen Harrier Monitoring Team.  As we enter 2018 and head towards Sorrel’s second birthday and subsequently her third year, we are pleased to be able to advise that the indications from the satellite data are that she is alive and active.  Reports from the boots on the ground are that Sorrel has attracted the attentions of a number of potential suitors, one of which has been shadowing her quite convincingly; the words ‘relentlessly’ and ‘exclusively’ have been employed by a field expert.  Our raptor specialists know the patterns of satellite data that indicate a breeding/incubating/brooding Hen Harrier, so here’s hoping we will have something of significance to announce as the year unfolds.  As we’ve said before, please watch this space…..
