The East Midland Group AGM is scheduled for Sunday, 1 December. This will take place at their usual venue of the Anglian Birdwatching Centre and will feature a presentation by Tim Mackrill of the Rutland Osprey Project.
The itinerary for the day is listed below. (Please note some of the later times are approximate and will depend on the number of issues raised during the AGM and general discussion.)
10.30am – Arrival and tea/coffee
10.45am – AGM
Statement from the Chairman
Presentation of 2012-13 accounts
Proposal and election of new East Midlands Group committee members
Transaction of any other business of the East Midlands Group of the Hawk and Owl Trust
11.30am – General discussion
11.45am – Presentation by Tim Mackrill
12.30pm – Lunch (probably soup and a roll, followed by some delicious cake!)
13.15pm – Depart or extend your stay and visit the reserve
There will be no charge to attend the AGM, but a fee of £2.50 is payable to cover our costs for those who would like lunch. So that we can plan ahead in terms of numbers and catering I’d be grateful if you would let me know, by Wednesday, 20th November, a) if you plan to attend and b) if you would like to be fed!
With regard to more serious business, in view of Chairman Geoff Williamson’s continuing recovery from illness and the recent resignation of an existing committee member, we need to add new members to the EMG committee. The formal election of these new members – listed below – will take place at the AGM:
Penny & Michael Rowley – Penny has a background in the NHS and Michael in agriculture. This enthusiastic couple have already helped us at various events and previously volunteered for the RSPB at Top Lodge. Penny also has experience of giving talks on various topics, such as the return of the Red Kite to the area.
Caroline Woodcock – Caroline has been in invaluable asset to EMG behind the scenes from the group’s inception, with her book-keeping skills meaning that our monthly and annual accounts are always up-to-date.
Whilst anyone may attend the AGM, only current members of the Hawk and Owl Trust are eligible to vote. In addition, as a member of the Hawk and Owl Trust, if you wish to raise any issue at the AGM under any other business, please inform Acting Chairman Simon Dudhill of the matter in writing (via email@example.com) no later than 14 days before the meeting is due to take place. Otherwise, the general discussion that follows the AGM is open for all to participate.
